Those Blessed Few
Create your indestructable army of Meeblings in this reverse-bullet-hell roguelike
THOSE BLESSED FEW by Studio Meebly
The peaceful Sea of Souls has been invaded by sinister enemies, and the meeblings have decided to take fate into their own hands.
Move the arrow with WASD or the arrow keys, meeblings will automatically follow it.
Meeblings shoot at the nearest target automatically. When you need to target a specific enemy, get close, but stay out of their attack range! Free more Meeblings by shooting at cages. The larger your army, the stronger you are!
Every enemy defeated will drop a soul, which a Meebling can pick up. When you level up after collecting enough souls, you can choose one of 3 cards, which contain useful upgrades or spells.
There are 6 stats which can be upgraded:
Attack: higher attack will increase damage against enemies, and increase the power of your spells.
Speed: The arrow and Meeblings will move faster upon upgrading the speed stat. Meeblings will also move more in-sync with a higher speed stat.
Cooldown Reduction: The more CDR, the faster your Meeblings will attack! Having maximum CDR will also allow the "Amount" stat to be upgraded.
Amount: How many projectiles the Meeblings shoot at once.
Bounce: All projectiles that don't pass through enemies will bounce into a random direction once per upgrade level.
Health: The amount of hits a Meebling can take before breaking. Upgrading the Health stat will also fully heal all of your Meeblings.
With more stats coming in following updates!
Spells are powerful attacks that can be manually activated with the G, H, V or B keys, or the Face buttons on a controller. Spells can help you out in situations where regular attacks may not, such as by dealing massive damage, or by hitting through multiple enemies.
There is much to explore in the Sea of Souls, so gather your army and free the world from your enemies's tyranny!

I can't seem to get the game to run on my PC. when installing "XP Game Jam" it opens file explorer and I can't find an exp, and the (windows) 1.0.1 launches a black screen with music playing
As for the game jam build, thanks for letting us know. We uploaded the wrong files, they should be correct now. Still, that's a VERY different version from the final game. We have no idea why the windows version does not work, as we have tested it on all of our PCs, and it works just fine. Does the browser version work for you?
I hadn't tried the browser version as I was using the Itch.io app.
Loaded it up in Firefox and it is playing just fine!
Great fun
Cool game!
...and did I notice arcade machine compatible controls...?
That is true! But there is currently no way to detect wether you're playing on an arcade... so we'll have to manually make an arcade edition for that.
All that's needed is a tiny UI update, right?
Anyway, let me know if you have an arcade machine build, and I'll put it on there.
nice game, keep up the good work
