Version 0.3.0 Patch notes (update released on May 24th)

New music by Glenn Kolenbrander!
Main menu theme (character select remix)
Mt. Chilimanjaro theme is complete!

Completely new menus and intro screen.

New stage: Candy Ruins! When hazards are set to on, a cactus will appear in each corner and prick a player who happens to fall into them.

Plane of the Deities has a completely new look!
Training stage has a completely new look!

The game timer can now be set to even lower times, including instant sudden death!

A new universal technique for all characters with short dashes (Dragonfish, Happy & Mad, Lily & Orbit): Dashdancing! You can cancel your dash with another dash in the opposite direction by quickly moving in that direction. There is no limit to how often this can be done while dashing.


A lot of bug fixes.

A lot of visual changes and bug fixes.

A lot of code and asset optimizations to ensure the game loads fast and takes up fewer space! (Although the new music takes up more space again :])


Balance changes:

Dragonfish

Buffs:
Up-attack range has been slightly increased.
Less endlag after using dash attack.

Other changes:
Down attack is now sliding headbutt. Crouching headbutt can still be done by holding back while blocking.
New attack: Fire Fang! press down, down, then up while on the ground to use this powered-up version of sky snap.

Shella Snail

Buffs:
Air attack now hits opponents downwards if they are airborne.
Charged up attack is now fully invincible on startup.

Nerfs:
Love on Fire projectile damage decreased (5 > 4).
Love on Fire projectile hitbox is smaller now.
Super attack (Triple Thunder) damage decreased (34 > 20).

Other changes:
Replaced neutral attack (Scorching smooch) with a new projectile attack.

Totem Monster

Buffs:
Neutral attack hitbox is slightly longer to match the animation.
Crouch attack is much safer after an opponent blocks now.

Nerfs:
Crouch attack and forwards crouch attack keep the opponent closer now if they block the attack.
Air attack damage 10 > 8.

Other changes:
Totem Monster can cancel its air attack with a double jump now. (don't just ignore this one it's really good!!)
Air attack hitbox is changed to better fit the animation.
Tentacles change color depending on the direction it's facing. This has no effect on the attack.
Abnormal meter building has been fixed.

Happy

Buffs:
Fully charged neutral attack and super attack can now be cancelled before the move is used by crouching.

Nerfs:
Super attack deals massive shield damage now instead of ignoring shields.

Other changes:
The CPU will now charge before using a super attack.

Mad

Buffs:
Dash attack launches further.
Dash attack pushes the opponent further if they block.
Air attack is safer if the opponent blocks now.
Fully charged neutral attack and super attack can now be cancelled before the move is used by crouching.

Nerfs:
Jab is much less safe against a blocking opponent.
Jab deals less shield damage.
medium charged attack deals less shield damage.
Dash attack damage on first 5 hits decreased, but increased on the last hit.
Dash attack is much more reactable on block.

Lily and Orbit

Buffs:
Orbit deals more hitstun now.
Orbit has a greater launch distance after hitting an opponent.
Orbit makes a blocking opponent stunned for longer.
Orbit is positioned a little bit lower to the ground to hit crouching opponents such as Dragonfish or Happy and Mad.
Crouch attack has a higher-reaching hitbox to make it more effective for juggling.
Crouch attack deals more shield stun.
Up attack (Lightning rod) can now slide like other up attacks.
Up attack hitbox is much larger now.
Dash attack now send at an angle that leaves Lily less vulnerable after hitting the opponent.
Forward air attack now sends opponents further if it hits them while in the air.
The activation of super attack has much less endlag now.
The stars from super attack spin much faster now.

Nerfs:
Crouch attack hitbox is active for slightly shorter.
Decreased blockstun after forward air massively.
Super attack duration is much shorter.
Stars from super attack do not break projectiles anymore.

Other changes:
New attack: Knee strike! Do this attack by pressing attack while in the air. The previous air attack can now be done by holding forward or backward while in the air.
New attack: Fading Fist! Do a dragonpunch input (Forwards, down, downforwards) to use this attack.
Removed attack: Crystal Clear Kick. I found this move to be barely useful. I will re-add it into the game with some changes in a later update.
